Mass Shooting Derangement (MSD) SyndromeWe may have to brace for more rampage shootings and murder-suicides with the coming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays — and the concomitant mainstream liberal media exploitation of the tragedies to clamor for more gun control. The end of the year holidays seems to spark irrationality and violence in those with mental illnesses or prone to criminality. Subject to the mass shooting derangement (MSD) syndrome that I discussed at some length in my new book, America, Guns, and Freedom: A Journey Into Politics and the Public Health & Gun Control Movements, more deranged freaks may enter the race for morbid celebrity status. In fact, the headlines are already blaring not only in California, where political correctness and gun control are suffocating, but also elsewhere in the United States.

Duncan, Oklahoma: “3 Dead in Walmart shooting — this one an apparent murder suicide…” Later it was reported (Nov 18, 2019)

Fresno California: “4 Killed, 6 Wounded in Shooting at Fresno Backyard Football Watch Party —About 35 people had gathered in a backyard in Fresno, California last night to watch a football game when they were attacked….” (Nov 18, 2019)

Southern California: “School Shooter Struck on His Birthday Using a .45 Handgun, Tried to Commit Suicide — A student gunman opened fire Thursday at a Southern California high school, killing two students and wounding three others before he was captured in grave condition after shooting himself in the head.…”  (Nov 14, 2019)

Che Guevara, an icon of the left, thought that socialism and egalitarianism would create a “new socialist man” dedicated to the common good without the need of material incentives to work and live. Che lived long enough to see it did not, although he persisted. Socialistic policies have instead created deranged individuals who resent the success and blame others for their failures, and at some point become killers.

It does not bode well for us as a society that we have a broken criminal justice system with revolving prison doors that panders to criminals and forgets the victims. We have the popular mass shooting media reporting乐动体育APPculture of Hollywood, which led by producers like Harvey Weinstein and actors like Kevin Spacey, . We have a mainstream liberal press that sensationalizes crime and grants celebrity status to mass killers, while it has moved so far to the left that it has become a propaganda organ of the Democrat Party. It glorifies sex, vulgarity, and violence, and then clamors for gun control and not crime control. And if the popular culture glorifies antiheroes, the media sensationalizes mass murder: Every shooting rampage is supposedly the “worst case of a single shooter in the workplace” or the “deadliest case of multiple shooters in a school place incident,” or some variation thereof.

乐动体育APPSo deranged killers end up with various motivations, from psychopathic hatred in their hearts to competing with each other for sociopathic ghastly notoriety. Some of us outraged by the heinous acts sometimes also get caught in the sensationalizing and only come to our senses when out of the mayhem the media suddenly calls for more gun control. One journalist even called for

It does not bode well that the socialistic egalitarian ethos promulgated by the liberal press, the progressive academic establishment, and the popular culture, has so permeated our society that when borderline individuals and outright malcontents, are not able to reach for the stars and succeed to the grandiose dreams promised them by the intelligentsia, they blame society and seek deadly revenge in others.

乐动体育APPMen have been told they are equal, and because of the limits of public education, the meaning of the phrase has not been explained to them that , but not in looks, IQ, motivation, intellect, industry, or what they ultimately attain in life. When their great expectations are not fulfilled and their delusions come crashing down, they seek victims because they believe they have been cheated or wronged.

The mass shooting derangement (MSD) syndrome is a psychopathic-sociopathic character disorder created by the politically correct nonsense and the progressive modern liberalism (socialism) of the last several decades, particularly since the 1990s. The perpetrators who survive need to know that they would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, face capital punishment, or be locked up in a mental facility for life. And that they will also be stigmatized and studied as the homicidal freaks of nature they are.

There is no doubt in my mind the progressive zeitgeist of the last several decades has contributed immensely to the MSD syndrome: the institutionalization of government dependency; the nauseating and depraved popular culture on TV and the cinema, especially the garbage coming from Hollywood; the incitement of the politics of envy and class warfare hatred by political demagogues (constantly underscored and hammered in by the academic establishment and the mass media) — all have been major contributors to this alienation and derangement disorder we see so clearly in America.

乐动体育APPAll the politically correct nonsense, such as gun free zones, zero tolerance for guns (including, ludicrously, water guns and even pictures of firearms, all banned in schools and which have resulted in young children being suspended from schools) must cease. Demonizing guns, inanimate objects, at the same time that criminals are pandered in the criminal justice system — must stop! More armed good citizens are needed in crowded places, including teachers in schools and ministers in churches.

乐动体育APPThe nonsense political correctness and the socialization of American culture must end, or we will all have to be carrying concealed — locked and loaded to stop the madness when it occurs!

Gun owners should not become demoralized!

The state of Washington has gone to the dogs. I had a Taurus Raging Hunter 44 mag on layaway for months. Last Monday it came in and went to the dealer filled out the form, paid my money and thought they'd give it to me like always. Nope. They've changed how the background checks are run and it can take up to 3 weeks because they are trying to figure it out. Crap!. When I got my CCP I went though an FBI check with fingerprints and all. After that I had no waiting period for a firearm. Not anymore. 3 days minimum. I expected such with the purchase of a semi auto, not with a damn revolver. I'm made to feel like a criminal. We are California, now. The rural areas can't outvote the Puget Sound cities and put a stop to this process. —LB (fb)

乐动体育APPYes, I unfortunately agree. You could not get me out of Georgia, except for South Carolina! —MAF

Just had to vent. I fear we gun owners are losing the battle and it sickens me. Can't reach the other side with facts. They won't look at them. I will. Thanks for the positive reply. I get down sometimes over the challenge of keeping the Constitution alive. —LB

I understand. We need to keep fighting back. They also want to demoralize us. Read my book. There are some gun events described in it and much to celebrate. Reagan said that every generation must fight all over again. —MAF

Some of my friends want socialism or something close to it. OK, but if we go there how long before they see the light? They don't know history. Most don't know what's in the Declaration or the Constitution. Hard to argue when the other side is based on emotion and willful ignorance. —LB

乐动体育APPVery true, BUT remember, our generation, at least mine, was the baby boomers, the most radical generation in US history. In fact Jerry Rubin is today a businessman and Abbie Hoffman, disappointed on his generation that ignore his call for renewed revolution, committed suicide. Baby boomers are today holding the tide against the generation X and millennials. Gen X is coming around and the millennials will come around when they start paying taxes, running businesses, etc. So don't despair my friend. I may post this conversation at my website because many of us are becoming demoralized and that must not happen! —MAF

FBI: Violent Crime Dropped in 2018

The FBI has released the 2018 “Crime in the United States” report, which compiles crime data from law enforcement agencies around the country. The news is good, and the positive data proved easy to consume:

“[In 2018] violent crime offenses decreased when compared with estimates from 2017. Robbery offenses fell 12.0 percent, murder and non-negligent manslaughter offenses fell 6.2 percent, and the estimated volume of aggravated assault offenses decreased 0.4 percent.”

According to the report, violent crime rates hit a low in 2014—marking the lowest point since 1970. By comparison, the violent crime rate in 2018 represented the third-lowest rate since 1970. The following chart illustrates the data-proven, decreasing trend of violent crime:

乐动体育APPContrary to mainstream-media reports, the 2018 data reflected the continuation of a violent-crime-rate decline that has persisted for nearly 30 years. In other words, even as the number of firearms exponentially increased and the so-called “assault weapons” ban expired, crime nonetheless declined.

But what about the rifles we hear about from gun-control advocates? Did the report address the use of such firearms? Indeed, it did. Apparently rifles of all types were used in only 2 percent of the homicides for which the FBI received weapons-related data in 2018. This bears repeating: The 2-percent figure covered all types of rifles—including the hunting rifles the Charlottesville’s chief of police advocated banning in her testimony before the House Judiciary Committee in September. Perhaps someone should remind Chief Brackney that rifles accounted for fewer homicides than knives (11 percent), hands, fists and feet (5 percent) and blunt objects (3 percent)... [And permit holders are law-abiding] Besides being an increasingly diverse group, permit holders continue to prove they are law-abiding citizens. Lott presents permit revocation rates to demonstrate. The highest-revocation rate listed is 0.72 percent in Connecticut; only one other state (Maryland) is even above 0.5 percent. To be clear, that is less than 1 percent of permit holders and, as Lott notes, “Most of these rates include revocations for any reason, including people moving out of the state, and for the states where the revocation rates are higher than hundredths of a percentage point are due to residency revocations...”---
